The California Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on collision that killed two people near Dos Palos on Thursday. According to the CHP, at about 9:45 p.m., Los Banos area CHP officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 33 south of Christian Avenue. Authorities said a preliminary investigation shows that a 75-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Nissan south on Highway 33 at an unknown speed. The CHP said there were indications that the Nissan's headlights may not have been activated.
