Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address from the Central Hall of the old Parliament building, once again raked up the Shah Bano issue while speaking about the rights of Muslim women on Tuesday, September 19. In a veiled attack on the Congress party, guilty of overturning the Supreme Court's judgment in the Shah Bano case, the Prime Minister said that mistakes were corrected in the hall, referring to the old building. During his address, the Prime Minister recalled several significant legislations which were passed in the hall including the Dowry Prohibition Act, Banking Service Commission Bill and Laws to fight terrorism in this regard, said the Prime Minister.
